Frequently Asked  Questions

Can all FICM's be repaired? No, some internal electronic components are not able to be repaired or replaced. Because of the sensitivity of the internal electronic components, please call us first if your FICM has been previously worked on by someone or has been disassembled. Also, if there is internal water/chemical or fire damage and obviously not repairable, a FICM replacement will need to be purchased.

Can you test our FICM? Yes, if you ship us your FICM, we will test for $45 plus $20 return shipping (also a signature will be required at delivery). If you are local and make an appointment, we can also test your FICM in one of our 6.0 trucks.

What if you find nothing wrong with my FICM when you receive it? We give you the option of our bullet proofing rebuild which prevents future FICM power supply failures and includes our same LIFETIME WARRANTY or we can test only and return for $45 PLUS $20 return shipping (must inlude a note in the package asking for a "TEST FIRST" or it will be rebuilt).

Do I need to reprogram the FICM once repaired? No, simply bolt it back in your truck! No programming or 're-flashing' necessary!

How is the best way to package and ship? As you know, the FICM is very expensive, so please add enough padding in the box especially around the connectors to protect them (packaging paper or bubble wrap is good) and to keep the FICM from shifting around too much in the box. DO NOT SHIP IN A BUBBLE ENVELOPE Tip: An economical way for 2-3 day priority mail shipping is to put the FICM in a FREE Priority Mail Flat Rate long Medium Box (Medium #2 size). Ask your Post Office Clerk for a FRB2 BOX (13"x11"x4") or a Priority 'Shoe Box' size - shipping cost with tracking and $500 shipping insurance is about $20. They also offer Express mail which is faster but costs much more. Or if you prefer, use UPS or FedEx to ship to us as well.

What is the turnaround time on repairs? We only keep all FICMs in our shop for 1-2 business days and then ship them back out headed your way via USPS Priority Mail Return Shipping the next business day (signature will be required at delivery).

Where are you located? We are located in North Texas in The Colony (about 35mi North of Dallas), Texas ZIP 75056.

Can I drop off the FICM for repair if I am local? Yes, however shipping and physical address are not the same please call to schedule.

What if I buy a FICM from you, but it turns out that I (or my mechanic) misdiagnosed the problem - can I return the FICM for a refund? Sure. Just return it in the same condition received with the pre-paid label we gave you for the core return and we'll give full refund less 15-20% restocking fee (mostly just covers the UPS shipping fees).

What is the warranty? We provide a lifetime guarantee that the FICM will start and run smooth in your Ford 6.0 Truck and that the voltage will be above 45V. Warranty void if there is any physical damage to the FICM, including water, fire, chemical, impact, or damage from a shorted FICM wiring harness. Warranty also void if test plate is not installed properly or if painted/security screws are tampered with or if during testing, the meter leads short the test screw to the FICM case.

What does repair include? We repair/rebuild defective components with better than OEM process and highest grade after-market components.

What is the HP Upgrade tune? The upgrade is a software replacement performance tune by PHP. It provides either 40, 80 or 100 added horsepower, decreases turbo lag time, 1-3 mpg fuel increase, gives better throttle response and helps with cold weather starts. Works in conjunction with all after market ECM tuners (except the Edge Juice with Attitude). Also, it is not a "58v upgrade" (which we do not do nor recommend).

Should I get the 80 HP Upgrade tune if I tow more than 8,000 lbs regularly? Not recommended, we would recommend the Atlas 40 HP Performance tune instead.

Do you repair smoke, shorted, fire, or water damaged units? No, if this type damage is found a replacement FICM will need to be purchased, we will accept the damaged FICM as a core however.
